For hair, wet your hands and massage the bar directly onto hair to lather it up and wash as normal. We recommend doing this process twice. Finally, use your regular hair conditioner.
Dry hair needs an extra boost of nutrition. Apply MATARRANIA’s Organic Hair Serum on specific areas -scalp or ends- after washing. Alternatively, use the serum as a hair mask, leaving it for 20 minutes before washing.
When used as shampoo, the first times hair might feel rough or lacklustre, due to the saturation of residues that conventional products leave on hair. Over time, however, hair becomes looser, shinier and softer.
Soaps are not meant to moisturise, but to cleanse skin and hair. After showering, using a moisturising and nourishing cream or oil is strongly recommended.

Can it be used as a shampoo or body wash?
Yes. Especially for sensitive skin. In any case, it makes very little lather unlike conventional soaps, which make a lot. Otherwise, it cleans gently and effectively.
Is it suitable for vegans?
Yes, it is a vegan product, it has not been tested on animals, it does not contain ingredients derived from animals or products produced by animals.
How should I store the bar?
Leave on the side in a cool dry place. After use, it is important to let it air-dry completely. Using soap dishes that drain excess water is highly recommended. Otherwise, the bar might melt and give off an unpleasant gelatinous matter.

Containing sodium hydroxide, isn't this soap aggressive for the skin?
Virtually all soaps on the market are made with saponified vegetable oils. And to saponify them, either sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) or potassium hydroxide (potassium soda) is needed. So, sodium hydroxide is an indispensable ingredient for soap making. Many laboratories buy oils that are already saponified and include them in the ingredients list as saponified oil instead of doing the saponification process themselves and including sodium hydroxide as an ingredient.
Feel free to use our bars made with sodium hydroxide as this ingredient is present in all soaps and it is fully neutralised by olive oil. This ancestral formula is enhanced with a supersaturation of olive oil being harmless for skin.
However, as with all soaps, it is important to avoid contact with the eyes.
