Above 45 ºC shea butter becomes liquid: avoid high temperatures. If the balm liquefies, it will return to a solid state after a few hours in the fridge.

PROPERTIES OF THE INGREDIENTS
Organic shea butter (Butyrospermum parkii): pure, virgin and unrefined; suitable for all skin; anti-inflammatory, nourishing, healing and emollient.
Organic extra virgin olive oil (Olea europaea fruit oil): excellent emollient and humectant, rich in vitamin E, polyphenols, fatty acids (oleic, linoleic and linolenic) and squalene. Produced in Spain, extra virgin quality and cold-pressed.
Organic calendula (Calendula officinalis flower extract): emollient, vulnerary and epithelising; indispensable for delicate, sensitive skin.
Organic hypericum (Hypericum perforatum extract): effective anti-inflammatory, astringent, antiseptic, vulnerary and soothing.
Organic sunflower oil (Helianthus annuus oil): very high vitamin E content, higher even than olive oil, so it plays an important antioxidant role for the skin and helps prevent cellular ageing. Fast-absorbing and suitable for all skin types. Produced in Spain, virgin quality and cold-pressed.
Organic sweet almond oil (Prunus amygdalus dulcis oil): very suitable for sensitive, delicate skin; rich in linoleic acids and vitamins A, B and E.
Organic cold-pressed sesame oil (Sesamum indicum oil): a good antioxidant thanks to its high vitamin E content; nourishing and repairing for sensitive, weakened or dry skin.
INFORMATION OF INTEREST ABOUT FOOD ALLERGENS
MATARRANIA uses the highest-quality ingredients, pure, unrefined and organically certified. Even so, natural products can also cause allergies in people who are sensitive to certain components. If you have food intolerances to tree nuts such as almonds, or to sunflower seeds or sesame seeds, do not use this product on the skin.
If you have a latex allergy, products made with shea butter are not recommended.
On which areas can “Healthy Bottom” nappy cream be applied? On any parts of the body where you see redness or irritation. It is also indicated for atopic skin, as it contains Hypericum perforatum (St John’s wort), which acts as an anti-inflammatory and dermis regenerator, together with extra virgin olive oil (present at 90% in the formula). As a nappy-area cream, shea butter also provides a natural protective layer against the outer humidity of the nappy.
Since it contains no preservatives, how should I look after this product so that it does not spoil? The only precautions to take with our products are: avoid high temperatures (there is no need to store the product in the fridge, but avoid, for example, creams being left inside the car in summer), oxidation (close the jar after use) and humidity (contact with water).
What is the expiry date after opening? All Matarrania products have a period after opening of 8 months (indicated on the product boxes with the symbol of an open jar and the English acronym PAO: Period After Opening).
Is this cosmetic suitable for vegans? Yes, it is a vegan product; it has not been tested on animals and contains no ingredients from animals nor products generated by them.
Can some components of the products cause allergies? Yes. There are two groups of components that can cause allergic reactions: vegetable oils extracted from tree nuts and essential oils. Since the vegetable oils we use as ingredients are pure, virgin and unrefined, they contain the allergens of nuts. A person allergic to almonds cannot use MATARRANIA products that contain sweet almond oil, and the same applies to hazelnuts (hazelnut oil), sunflower seeds (sunflower oil) and sesame seeds (sesame oil). Essential oils are natural aromatic substances secreted by plants and are composed of many components. Some of these components are allergens, that is, they can cause allergies, such as geraniol or citral. Cosmetics safety regulations require that the allergenic components of essential oils appear on the ingredients list when their concentration is greater than 0.001% in leave-on products, and greater than 0.01% in rinse-off products. People who are allergic to these components of essential oils cannot use cosmetics that contain them.
