Butyrospermum parkii (karité/shea) butter*, Olea europaea (oliva virgen extra/olive extra virgin) fruit oil*, Prunus amygdalus dulcis (almendras/almond) seed oil*, Helianthus annuus (girasol/sunflower) seed oil*, Sesamum indicum (sésamo/sesame) oil*, Rosa canina (rosal silvestre/dog rose) flower extract*, Copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax*, Cymbopogon martini (palmarosa) oil*. Contains: linalool**, geraniol**, farnesol**.

PROPERTIES OF THE INGREDIENTS

Organic shea butter (Butyrospermum parkii): pure, virgin and unrefined; suitable for all skin; anti-inflammatory, nourishing, healing and emollient.

Organic extra virgin olive oil (Olea europaea fruit oil): excellent skin emollient and humectant, rich in vitamin E, polyphenols, fatty acids (oleic, linoleic, linolenic) and squalene. Produced in Spain, extra-virgin quality and cold-pressed.

Organic sweet almond oil (Prunus amygdalus oil): very suitable for all types of sensitive, delicate skin; rich in linoleic acids and vitamins A, B, E. Produced in Spain, virgin quality and cold-pressed.

Organic sunflower oil (Helianthus annuus oil): high vitamin E content (one of the highest among vegetable oils, even higher than olive), so it plays an important antioxidant role for the skin, helping to prevent cellular ageing. Fast-absorbing; suitable for all skin types. Produced in Spain, virgin quality and cold-pressed.

Organic cold-pressed sesame oil (Sesamum indicum oil): good antioxidant due to its high vitamin E content; provides nourishing and repairing properties for sensitive, weakened or dry skin.

Organic dog-rose (Rosa canina flower extract): astringent; repairs damaged skin. Cellular regenerator.

Organic palmarosa essential oil (Cymbopogon martini oil): anti-infectious, antifungal and a good healing agent.

INFORMATION OF INTEREST ABOUT FOOD ALLERGENS

MATARRANIA uses ingredients of the highest quality, pure, unrefined and organically certified; even so, natural products can also cause allergies in people who are sensitive to some components. If you have food intolerances to tree nuts such as almonds, sunflower seeds or sesame seeds, do not use this product on the skin.

If you have a latex allergy, products made with shea butter are not recommended.

Faq

Does it have sun protection? No. If you expect sun exposure, use a sunscreen suitable for your skin type. It does not provide sun protection, but it protects against multiple external factors such as temperature changes, wind and environmental pollution. Caring for the skin with organic cosmetics strengthens its natural defences against oxidising agents.

As it contains oil, does it leave the skin greasy? It is a good facial cream for dry skin and its texture is balm-like, as with all MATARRANIA creams, since it contains no water: it is very concentrated and very nourishing, but it does not leave the skin greasy. Apply a small amount and spread well and, although it takes a little longer to be absorbed than normal creams (which are emulsions and contain water), it leaves the skin soft, supple, protected and deeply hydrated.

What is the expiry date after opening? All Matarrania products have a period after opening of 8 months (indicated on the product boxes with the symbol of an open jar and the English acronym PAO: Period After Opening).

Since it contains no preservatives, how should I look after this product so that it does not spoil? The only precautions to take with our products are: avoid high temperatures (there is no need to store the product in the fridge, but avoid, for example, creams being left inside the car in summer), oxidation (close the jar after use) and humidity (contact with water).

Is this cosmetic suitable for vegans? Yes, it is a vegan product; it has not been tested on animals and contains no ingredients from animals nor products generated by them.

Can some components of the products cause allergies? Yes, there are two groups of components that may cause allergic reactions: plant oils extracted from tree nuts and essential oils. In addition, products made with shea butter may cause reactions in people allergic to latex.

Because the plant oils we use as an ingredient are pure, virgin and unrefined, they contain the allergens from nuts. A person allergic to almonds cannot use MATARRANIA products that contain sweet almond oil, and the same applies to hazelnuts (hazelnut oil), sunflower seeds (sunflower oil) and sesame seeds (sesame oil).

Essential oils are natural aromatic substances secreted by plants and are composed of many components. Some of these components are allergens, that is, they can cause allergies, such as geraniol or citral. Cosmetic product safety regulations require the allergenic components of essential oils to appear in the ingredient list where their concentration is greater than 0,001% in products that are left on the skin, and greater than 0,01% in products that are removed from the skin. People who are allergic to these components of essential oils cannot use cosmetics that contain them.

Shea butter contains natural latex in its composition. The presence of this substance is minimal, but even so it can affect people allergic to latex. These people should avoid products that include shea butter in their formulation, or carry out an allergy test before using them, applying a small amount to the forearm and observing its reaction.
