Does it have sun protection? No. If you anticipate sun exposure, use a sunscreen suitable for your skin type. It does not provide sun protection but it protects against multiple external factors such as temperature changes, wind, environmental pollution... Caring for the skin with organic cosmetics is a way to strengthen it so that it can defend itself against oxidising agents, naturally.

As it contains oil, does it leave the skin greasy?

 It is a good facial cream for combination skin and its texture is balm-like, as with all MATARRANIA creams, since it contains no water: it is very concentrated and very nourishing, but it does not leave the skin greasy. Apply a small amount and spread well and, although it takes a little longer to be absorbed than normal creams (which are emulsions and contain water), it leaves the skin soft, supple, protected and deeply hydrated.

Can lemon essential oil cause skin spots? In this product lemon essential oil is just one more ingredient, and does not exceed a concentration greater than 3%, so it will not cause skin spots or irritation, as long as there is no specific allergy or intolerance to lemon. That said, sun exposure does cause spots, so it is necessary to apply a sunscreen according to individual needs if sun exposure is expected.

Can it be used for oily skin? Yes, it can be used for oily skin up to once a day after your usual cleansing. Vegetable oils do not clog pores; on the contrary, they let them breathe. For a natural oily-skin routine we recommend starting with the organic neutral soap mousse and continuing with the organic gentle rose toner, which, in addition to hydrating and cleansing, has an astringent effect and helps prevent blackheads. Afterwards, apply the nourishing moisturiser. A deep cleanse once a week with the organic olive exfoliant is highly recommended to complete the care of this skin type.

Since it contains no preservatives, how should I look after this product so that it does not spoil? The only precautions to take with our products are: avoid high temperatures (there is no need to store the product in the fridge, but avoid, for example, creams being left inside the car in summer), oxidation (close the jar after use) and humidity (contact with water).

What is the expiry date after opening? All Matarrania products have a period after opening of 8 months (indicated on the product boxes with the symbol of an open jar and the English acronym PAO: Period After Opening).

Is this cosmetic suitable for vegans? Yes, there are two groups of components that may cause allergic reactions: plant oils extracted from tree nuts and essential oils. In addition, products made with shea butter may cause reactions in people allergic to latex.

Because the plant oils we use as an ingredient are pure, virgin and unrefined, they contain the allergens from nuts. A person allergic to almonds cannot use MATARRANIA products that contain sweet almond oil, and the same applies to hazelnuts (hazelnut oil), sunflower seeds (sunflower oil) and sesame seeds (sesame oil).

Essential oils are natural aromatic substances secreted by plants and are composed of many components. Some of these components are allergens, that is, they can cause allergies, such as geraniol or citral. Cosmetic product safety regulations require the allergenic components of essential oils to appear in the ingredient list where their concentration is greater than 0,001% in products that are left on the skin, and greater than 0,01% in products that are removed from the skin. People who are allergic to these components of essential oils cannot use cosmetics that contain them.

Shea butter contains natural latex in its composition. The presence of this substance is minimal, but even so it can affect people allergic to latex. These people should avoid products that include shea butter in their formulation, or carry out an allergy test before using them, applying a small amount to the forearm and observing its reaction.
