PROPERTIES OF THE INGREDIENTS:
Shea butter (Butyrospermum parkii butter): pure, virgin and unrefined, suitable for all skins, with anti-inflammatory, nourishing, healing and emollient properties.
Organic sunflower oil (Helianthus annuus oil): high vitamin E content, one of the highest among vegetable oils, even higher than olive, so it plays an important antioxidant role for the skin, that is, it prevents cellular ageing. It is a fast-absorbing oil, suitable for all skin types. Produced in Spain, virgin quality and cold-pressed.
Organic sweet almond oil (Prunus amygdalus oil): very suitable for all types of sensitive and delicate skin, rich in linoleic acids and vitamins A, B, E. Produced in Spain, virgin quality and cold-pressed.
Organic extra virgin olive oil (Olea europaea fruit oil): excellent emollient and humectant for the skin, rich in vitamin E, polyphenols, fatty acids (oleic, linoleic and linolenic) and squalene. Produced in Spain, extra-virgin quality and cold-pressed.
Organic cold-pressed virgin sesame oil (Sesamum indicum oil): a good antioxidant thanks to its high amount of vitamin E, so it has nourishing and repairing properties for sensitive, weakened or dry skin.
Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis seed oil): liquid wax obtained by pressing jojoba seeds. Fast-absorbing, it stimulates cell regeneration thanks to linolenic acid.
Organic carnauba wax (Copernicia cerifera wax): plant-based wax that provides stability to the final product and prevents it from melting in the heat.

Organic cold-pressed virgin rosehip oil (Rosa canina seed oil): cell regenerator and promotes healing. Epidermis-tightening properties. Tones tired skin.
Organic ylang-ylang essential oil (Cananga odorata flower oil): a good skin tonic. Sebum-regulating action, helping to rebalance the skin.
Does it have sun protection? No. If you expect sun exposure, use a sunscreen suitable for your skin type. It does not have sun protection, but it protects against multiple external factors such as temperature changes, wind and environmental pollution... Caring for your skin with organic cosmetics is a way of strengthening it so that it can naturally defend itself against oxidising agents.
As it contains oil, does it leave the skin greasy? It is a good facial cream for combination skin and its texture is balm-like, like all MATARRANIA creams, as it does not contain water: it is very concentrated and very nourishing, but it does not leave the skin greasy.
Apply a small amount and spread well. Although it takes a little longer to absorb than conventional creams (which are emulsions and contain water), it leaves the skin soft, supple, protected and deeply moisturised.
Can lemon essential oil cause skin pigmentation? In this product, lemon essential oil is just one of the ingredients and does not exceed a concentration of 3%, so it will not cause pigmentation or any irritation, provided there is no specific allergy or intolerance to lemon.
However, sun exposure can cause pigmentation, so it is necessary to apply a sunscreen according to individual needs if sun exposure is expected.
Can it be used on oily skin? Yes, it can be used on oily skin up to once a day and after your usual cleansing routine. Vegetable oils do not clog pores; on the contrary, they allow them to breathe.
For the natural treatment of oily skin, we recommend starting your routine with the organic soap mousse and following with the organic Gentle Rose Toner, which, in addition to hydrating and cleansing, has an astringent effect and helps prevent blackheads. Then apply the nourishing moisturiser. A deep cleanse once a week with the organic olive exfoliant is highly recommended to complete the care of this skin type.
As it does not contain preservatives, how should I look after this product so that it does not spoil? The only precautions to take with our products are: avoid high temperatures (there is no need to store the product in the fridge, but avoid, for example, creams being left inside the car in summer), oxidation (close the jar after use) and humidity (contact with water).
What is the expiry date of a product after opening? All Matarrania products have a period after opening of 8 months (indicated on the product boxes with the symbol of an open jar and the English acronym PAO: Period After Opening).
Is this cosmetic suitable for vegans? Yes, it is a vegan product; it has not been tested on animals and contains no ingredients from animals nor products generated by them.
Can some components of the products cause allergies? Yes, there are two groups of components that can cause allergic reactions: vegetable oils extracted from tree nuts and essential oils. In addition, products made with shea butter can cause reactions in people allergic to latex.
Since the vegetable oils we use as ingredients are pure, virgin and unrefined, they contain the allergens of nuts. A person allergic to almonds cannot use MATARRANIA products that contain sweet almond oil, and the same applies to hazelnuts (hazelnut oil), sunflower seeds (sunflower oil) and sesame seeds (sesame oil).
Essential oils are natural aromatic substances secreted by plants and are composed of many components. Some of these components are allergens, that is, they can cause allergies, such as geraniol or citral. Cosmetics safety regulations require that the allergenic components of essential oils appear in the list of ingredients when their concentration is greater than 0.001% in leave-on products, and greater than 0.01% in rinse-off products. People who are allergic to these components of essential oils cannot use cosmetics that contain them.
Shea butter contains natural latex in its composition. The presence of this substance is minimal, but even so it can affect people allergic to latex. These people should avoid products that incorporate shea butter in their formulation, or else carry out an allergy test before using them, applying a small amount to the forearm and observing the reaction.
