Is it recommended to use the eye contour if I have dermatitis? Yes, MATARRANIA’s organic eye contour can be used on skin with dermatitis. It is a formula that softens and deeply hydrates the skin and contains no perfumes, so it is especially suitable for sensitive skin.

From what age is it recommended to use the eye contour? The eye contour can be used at any age.

Does it have sun protection? No. If you expect sun exposure, use a sunscreen suitable for your skin type. It does not provide sun protection, but it protects against multiple external factors such as temperature changes, wind and environmental pollution. Caring for the skin with organic cosmetics strengthens its natural defences against oxidising agents.

As it contains oil, does it leave the skin greasy? It is a good facial cream for combination skin and its texture is balm-like, as with all MATARRANIA creams, since it contains no water: it is very concentrated and very nourishing, but it does not leave the skin greasy. Apply a small amount and spread well and, although it takes a little longer to be absorbed than normal creams (which are emulsions and contain water), it leaves the skin soft, supple, protected and deeply hydrated.

Why is the eye contour texture more oily than the other face creams? Because it has a higher proportion of extra virgin olive oil, which, although one of the most nourishing vegetable oils, is slow-absorbing and therefore gives that oily texture.

Which product is more recommended to treat lip wrinkles, the lip balm or the eye contour? In this case, it is more advisable to use the eye contour, as it softens expression lines and helps the skin’s cellular regeneration. If it is a dryness issue, we recommend the lip balm.

Since it contains no preservatives, how should I look after this oil so it does not spoil? The only precautions to take with our products are: avoid high temperatures (there is no need to store the product in the fridge, but avoid, for example, creams being left inside the car in summer), oxidation (close the jar after use) and humidity (contact with water).

Can some components of the products cause allergies? Yes, there are two groups of components that may cause allergic reactions: plant oils extracted from tree nuts and essential oils. In addition, products made with shea butter may cause reactions in people allergic to latex.

Because the plant oils we use as an ingredient are pure, virgin and unrefined, they contain the allergens from nuts. A person allergic to almonds cannot use MATARRANIA products that contain sweet almond oil, and the same applies to hazelnuts (hazelnut oil), sunflower seeds (sunflower oil) and sesame seeds (sesame oil).

Essential oils are natural aromatic substances secreted by plants and are composed of a multitude of components. Some of these components are allergens, that is, they can cause allergies, such as geraniol or citral. Cosmetic product safety regulations require the allergenic components of essential oils to appear in the ingredient list where their concentration is greater than 0.001% in products that are left on the skin, and greater than 0.01% in products that are removed from the skin. People who are allergic to these components of essential oils cannot use cosmetics that contain them.

Shea butter contains natural latex in its composition. The presence of this substance is minimal, but it can still affect people allergic to latex. These people should avoid products that include shea butter in their formulation, or else carry out an allergy test before using them, applying a small amount to the forearm and observing its reaction.
