Does it have sun protection? No. If you foresee sun exposure, use a sunscreen suitable for your skin type. It does not have sun protection but it protects against multiple external factors such as temperature changes, wind, environmental pollution… Caring for the skin with organic cosmetics is a way to give it strength to defend itself from oxidising agents, naturally.

As it contains oil, does it leave the skin greasy? It is a good facial cream for dry skin and its texture is balm-like, like all MATARRANIA’s, since it does not contain water: it is very concentrated and very nourishing, but it does not leave the skin greasy.

You should apply a small amount and spread well, and although it takes a little longer to absorb than normal creams (which are emulsions and have water), it leaves the skin soft, elastic, protected and deeply hydrated.

What is the expiry date of a product after opening? All Matarrania products have a period after opening of 8 months (indicated on the product boxes with the symbol of an open jar and the English acronym PAO: Period After Opening).

As it does not contain preservatives, how should I look after this product so that it does not spoil? The only precautions to take with our products are: avoid high temperatures (you do not need to keep the product in the fridge, but you should avoid, for example, creams being inside the car in summer), oxidation (close the jar after use) and humidity (contact with water).

Is this cosmetic suitable for vegans? Yes, it is a vegan product; it has not been tested on animals and contains no ingredients from animals nor products generated by them.

Can some components of the products cause allergies? Yes, there are two groups of components that can cause allergic reactions: vegetable oils extracted from tree nuts and essential oils. In addition, products made with shea butter can cause reactions in people allergic to latex. Since the vegetable oils we use as ingredients are pure, virgin and unrefined, they contain the allergens of nuts. A person allergic to almonds cannot use MATARRANIA products that contain sweet almond oil; the same applies to hazelnuts (hazelnut oil), sunflower seeds (sunflower oil) and sesame seeds (sesame oil). Essential oils are natural aromatic substances secreted by plants and are composed of many components. Some of these components are allergens, that is, they can cause allergies, such as geraniol or citral. The cosmetics safety regulations require that the allergenic components of essential oils appear in the list of ingredients when their concentration is greater than 0.001% in products that are left on the skin, and greater than 0.01% in products that are removed from the skin. People who are allergic to these components of essential oils cannot use cosmetics that contain them.

Shea butter contains natural latex in its composition. The presence of this substance is minimal, but even so it can affect people allergic to latex. These people should avoid products that incorporate shea butter in their formulation, or else do an allergy test before using them, applying a small amount to the forearm and observing the reaction.
