This eye contour is more appropriate for expression lines and for puffiness, as it has an effective anti-ageing effect thanks to the vegetable oils of olive and rosehip and a puffiness-reducing effect thanks to the anti-inflammatory properties of santolina, or wild chamomile.

Is it advisable to use the eye contour if I have dermatitis? Yes, MATARRANIA’s organic eye contour can be used on skin with dermatitis. It is a formula that softens and hydrates the skin in depth and has no perfumes, so it is especially indicated for sensitive skin.

From what age is it advisable to use the eye contour? The eye contour can be used at any age.

Does it have sun protection? No. If you foresee sun exposure, use a sunscreen suitable for your skin type. It does not have sun protection but it protects against multiple external factors such as temperature changes, wind, environmental pollution… Caring for the skin with organic cosmetics is a way to strengthen it to defend itself from oxidising agents, naturally.

As it contains oil, does it leave the skin greasy? It is a good facial cream for combination skin and its texture is balm-like, like all MATARRANIA’s, since it does not contain water: it is very concentrated and very nourishing, but it does not leave the skin greasy.

You should apply a small amount and spread well, and although it takes a little longer to absorb than normal creams (which are emulsions and have water), it leaves the skin soft, elastic, protected and deeply hydrated.

Why is the texture of the eye contour more oily than that of the other face creams? Because it has a higher proportion of extra virgin olive oil which, although it is one of the most nourishing vegetable oils, is slow-absorbing, and that is why it gives that oily texture.

Which product is more advisable for treating wrinkles on the lips, the lip balm or the eye contour? In this case, it is more advisable to use the eye contour, since it softens expression lines and helps the skin’s cell regeneration. If it is a dryness problem, we recommend the lip balm.

As it does not contain preservatives, how should I look after this oil so that it does not spoil? The only precautions to take with our products are: avoid high temperatures (you do not need to keep the product in the fridge, but you should avoid, for example, creams being inside the car in summer), oxidation (close the jar after use) and humidity (contact with water).

Can some components of the products cause allergies? Yes, there are two groups of components that can cause allergic reactions: vegetable oils extracted from tree nuts and essential oils. In addition, products made with shea butter can cause reactions in people allergic to latex. Since the vegetable oils we use as ingredients are pure, virgin and unrefined, they contain the allergens of nuts. A person allergic to almonds cannot use MATARRANIA products that contain sweet almond oil; the same applies to hazelnuts (hazelnut oil), sunflower seeds (sunflower oil) and sesame seeds (sesame oil).

Essential oils are natural aromatic substances that plants secrete and are composed of many components. Some of these components are allergens, that is, they can cause allergies, such as geraniol or citral. The cosmetics safety regulations require that the allergenic components of essential oils appear in the list of ingredients when their concentration is greater than 0.001% in products that are left on the skin, and greater than 0.01% in products that are removed from the skin. People who are allergic to these components of essential oils cannot use cosmetics that contain them.

Shea butter contains natural latex in its composition. The presence of this substance is minimal, but even so it can affect people allergic to latex. These people should avoid products that incorporate shea butter in their formulation, or else do an allergy test before using them, applying a small amount to the forearm and observing the reaction.
