At what age is it recommended to use a facial serum? It is difficult to answer this because it depends on each person and the condition of their skin. Skin can be very stressed at 30 or look fantastic at 50. In any case, our recommendation is to start using it from the age of 40.

Which products are not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding? There is no problem using our products during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as the proportion of essential oils is low and poses no risk to you or your baby.

The only products we advise against during pregnancy and breastfeeding are the Cinnamon and Clove Lip Balm, the Body Moisturising Oil with Cinnamon, Clove and Ylang-ylang (clove is not recommended in pregnancy), the Firming Moisturiser for Neck and Décolleté because it contains sage, which is also not recommended, and the Regenerating and Firming Facial Serum for Mature Skin, as it contains rockrose essential oil (it is haemostatic). All these products display this warning on the box label. The rest of the products pose no problem.

Is this cosmetic suitable for vegans? Yes. It is a vegan product, not tested on animals and it contains no ingredients from animals or produced by them.

What is the period after opening of a product? All Matarrania products have a period after opening of 8 months (indicated on the product boxes with the symbol of an open jar and the acronym PAO: Period After Opening).

Can any components of the products cause allergies? Yes. There are two groups of components that can cause allergic reactions: vegetable oils extracted from tree nuts, and essential oils.

Since the vegetable oils we use as ingredients are pure, virgin and unrefined, they contain the allergens naturally present in nuts. A person allergic to almonds must not use MATARRANIA products that contain sweet almond oil; the same applies to hazelnuts (hazelnut oil), sunflower seeds (sunflower oil) and sesame seeds (sesame oil).

Essential oils are natural aromatic substances secreted by plants and are composed of many components. Some of these components are allergens, that is, they can cause allergies, such as geraniol or citral. Cosmetics safety regulations require the allergenic components of essential oils to appear in the ingredients list when their concentration is greater than 0.001% in leave-on products and greater than 0.01% in rinse-off products. People who are allergic to these components must not use cosmetics that contain them.

How should creams be stored so they do not spoil? The only precautions to take with our products are: avoid high temperatures (you do not need to keep the product in the fridge, but avoid, for example, leaving creams inside the car in summer), avoid oxidation (close the jar after use) and avoid humidity.

Bear in mind that natural products do not have to spoil sooner; in our case, the key to preservation lies in the lack of water in the composition. This is why our cosmetics are very effective and concentrated: you should use only a small amount and spread the product well.
