From what age is this cream recommended? It largely depends on each skin type and degree of ageing, but under normal conditions MATARRANIA’s organic neck & décolletage beautifying cream is recommended from the age of 35.

Does it have sun protection? No. If you expect sun exposure, use a sunscreen suitable for your skin type. It does not provide sun protection, but it protects against multiple external factors such as temperature changes, wind and environmental pollution. Caring for the skin with organic cosmetics strengthens its natural defences against oxidising agents.

As it contains oil, does it leave the skin greasy? It is a good facial cream for combination skin and its texture is balm-like, as with all MATARRANIA creams, since it contains no water: it is very concentrated and very nourishing, but it does not leave the skin greasy. Apply a small amount and spread well and, although it takes a little longer to be absorbed than normal creams (which are emulsions and contain water), it leaves the skin soft, supple, protected and deeply hydrated.

Is this product suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding? Not recommended. The only products we advise against during pregnancy and breastfeeding are: the cinnamon & clove lip balm, the cinnamon, clove & ylang-ylang body moisturising oil (clove is not recommended in pregnancy), the neck & décolletage beautifying cream (contains sage, also not recommended) and the regenerating & firming facial serum for mature skin (contains rockrose essential oil, haemostatic). All of these products include this warning on the box label. The rest of MATARRANIA’s skincare poses no problem, since the proportion of essential oils is low and does not present any risk to you or your baby.

What is the expiry date after opening? All Matarrania products have a period after opening of 8 months (indicated on the product boxes with the symbol of an open jar and the English acronym PAO: Period After Opening).

As it does not contain preservatives, how should I look after this product so that it does not spoil? The only precautions to take with our products are: avoid high temperatures (you do not need to keep the product in the fridge, but avoid, for example, leaving creams inside the car in summer), oxidation (close the jar after use) and humidity (contact with water).

Is this cosmetic suitable for vegans? Yes, it is a vegan product; it has not been tested on animals and contains no ingredients from animals nor products generated by them.

Can some components of the products cause allergies? Yes, there are two groups of components that can cause allergic reactions: vegetable oils extracted from tree nuts, and essential oils. In addition, products made with shea butter may cause reactions in people who are allergic to latex.

Since the vegetable oils we use as ingredients are pure, virgin and unrefined, they contain the allergens naturally present in nuts. A person allergic to almonds must not use MATARRANIA products that contain sweet almond oil, and the same applies to hazelnuts (hazelnut oil), sunflower seeds (sunflower oil) and sesame seeds (sesame oil).

Essential oils are natural aromatic substances secreted by plants and are composed of many components. Some of these components are allergens, that is, they can cause allergies, such as geraniol or citral. Cosmetics safety regulations require the allergenic components of essential oils to appear in the ingredients list when their concentration is greater than 0.001% in leave-on products and greater than 0.01% in rinse-off products. People who are allergic to these components of essential oils must not use cosmetics that contain them.

Shea butter contains natural latex in its composition. The presence of this substance is minimal, but it may still affect people who are allergic to latex. These people should avoid products that include shea butter in their formulation, or carry out a patch test before use by applying a small amount to the forearm and observing the reaction.
