MATARRANIA owes its name to the land where it was born, the Comarca del Matarraña, bathed by the cold and untamed waters of the River Matarraña.
Its proximity to the Mediterranean softens this environment, giving character to a border territory where the variety of cultures has shaped people and customs enriched with a singular identity that has been preserved over time.
The Matarraña alternates forests and mountains with plains and riverbanks, and is dotted with 18 small villages, hewn from stone, that seem suspended in time and restored for the visitor who, attentively, discovers in their corners the authenticity of the rural environment.
