PROPERTIES OF THE INGREDIENTS
Organic sweet almond oil (Prunus amygdalus dulcis oil): very suitable for all types of sensitive and delicate skin; rich in linoleic acids and vitamins A, B, E. Produced in Spain, virgin quality, cold-pressed.
Organic extra virgin olive oil (Olea europaea fruit oil): excellent emollient and humectant; rich in vitamin E, polyphenols, fatty acids (oleic, linoleic and linolenic) and squalene. Produced in Spain, virgin, cold-pressed.
Organic sunflower oil (Helianthus annuus oil): very high vitamin E content—one of the highest among vegetable oils, even more than olive—therefore a major antioxidant for the skin, helping to prevent cellular ageing. A fast-absorbing oil suitable for all skin types. Produced in Spain, virgin, cold-pressed.
Organic virgin cold-pressed sesame oil (Sesamum indicum oil): a good antioxidant thanks to its high vitamin E content; nourishing and reparative for sensitive, weakened or dry skin.
Organic cinnamon leaf essential oil (Cinnamomum cassia leaf oil): strong antiseptic, anti-infectious and antibacterial; general stimulant and aphrodisiac.
Organic clove essential oil (Eugenia caryophyllus bud oil): powerful anti-infectious; very energising and toning.
Organic ylang-ylang essential oil (Cananga odorata flower oil): a good skin-toner and regenerator.
Organic rosehip (Rosa canina flower extract): astringent; reparative for damaged skin; supports cell renewal.
INFORMATION OF INTEREST ABOUT FOOD ALLERGENS:
MATARRANIA uses the highest-quality, pure, unrefined, certified organic ingredients. Even so, natural products can still cause allergies in people sensitive to some components. If you have food intolerances to tree nuts such as almonds, do not use this product on the skin.
Is this product suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding? This oil is NOT recommended. The only products we advise against during pregnancy and breastfeeding are: the Cinnamon & Clove Lip Balm; the body oil with cinnamon, clove and ylang-ylang (clove is not recommended in pregnancy); the Firming Moisturiser for Neck & Décolleté, as it contains sage, which is also not recommended; and the Regenerating & Firming Face Serum for Mature Skin, as it contains cistus essential oil (haemostatic).
For the rest of MATARRANIA skincare products, there is no problem using them during pregnancy and breastfeeding as the proportion of essential oils is low and does not pose any risk to you or your baby.
With no preservatives, how should I care for this oil so it doesn’t spoil? The only precautions to take with our products are: avoid high temperatures (no need to refrigerate, but avoid leaving creams, for example, inside a car in summer); oxidation (close the jar after use); and humidity (avoid contact with water).
Is this cosmetic suitable for vegans? Yes, it is a vegan product, not tested on animals and contains no animal-derived ingredients or by-products.
What is the period after opening? All MATARRANIA products have a period after opening of 8 months (indicated on the product boxes with the open-jar symbol and the acronym in English PAO: Period After Opening).
Can some components cause allergies? Yes. There are two groups of components that can cause allergic reactions: vegetable oils extracted from nuts/seeds and essential oils.
Since the vegetable oils we use as ingredients are pure, virgin and unrefined, they contain the allergens of the original nuts/seeds. A person allergic to almonds cannot use MATARRANIA products that contain sweet almond oil, and the same applies to hazelnuts (hazelnut oil), sunflower seeds (sunflower oil) and sesame seeds (sesame oil).
Essential oils are natural aromatic substances secreted by plants and are composed of many components. Some of these are allergens (e.g., geraniol or citral). Cosmetic safety regulations require that allergenic components of essential oils appear in the ingredient list when their concentration is higher than 0.001% in leave-on products and higher than 0.01% in rinse-off products.
People allergic to these components should not use cosmetics that contain them.
