The Inertia of Silence. The valuable lesson of getting to know ourselves from within
The writer
Sara begins her poetry with her own name: Bueno and Hormigo, her two surnames, merge to form the contraction that shapes her artistic name: Búho (Owl).
In 2005 she began sharing her poems with the readers of her blog, until in 2016 she gave birth to her first book: La ataraxia del corazón (The Ataraxy of the Heart).
Having taken part in various events in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and the United States, as well as in her native Spain, the author has made a name for herself in the contemporary poetry scene.
The illustrator
Lady Desidia is an Asturian artist whose illustrations are characterised by their delicacy and dreamlike quality. Since 2000, she has become one of the most recognised graphic designers in Spain.
Her drawings are the perfect ingredient to accompany Sara Búho’s texts, visually conveying the nostalgia and sensitivity that poetry requires.

The poems
Sara’s poetry explores themes that both move and concern her generation: subjects such as love or sex share the spotlight with social issues, among others. Her poems are raw, direct, unfiltered and free.
The Inertia of Silence
The book we are sharing today could be described as a form of introspection, an exploration of love, heartbreak and solitude.
The silence, which gives the title its meaning, refers precisely to that emptiness we feel after a breakup or during moments of loneliness; it is a metaphor for the search for our inner self and for reconciling with the past experiences that left us wounded.
The poems that make up The Inertia of Silence reflect the vulnerability we all experience at certain points in our lives, but also our capacity to turn those moments into learning experiences and to heal our scars.
Writing and reading can help us get to know ourselves better. Poetry, with its emotional yet direct nature, can make us reflect and bring us meaningful personal growth, beyond the purely aesthetic.
There is a poem that says:
"Don’t be afraid, Mum.
The first one to learn how to be happy
will teach the other."
Because it is impossible to take care of others without first taking care of ourselves.

Our recommendation today is clear: organic cosmetics to heal the outside, and Sara Búho’s poetry to heal the inside.
