At Matarrania we have always felt different from the cosmetics industry, and that is precisely why our brand was born. We moved away from the complicated and embraced the natural as part of who we are. We seek to create organic cosmetics of alchemy, natural and effective, with a pleasant and slow application that helps us build an experience of connection with our body, our beautiful temple.

We have extracted the authenticity of rural life, rescued ancestral formulas and created the organic and responsible cosmetics we always dreamed of. It is clear that we are not conventional cosmetics, but we want to go further and explain what makes us different and how you should use our products.

Why is our cosmetics unique?

Matarrania products contain no water in their formulation, and everything revolves around the wonderful extra virgin olive oil. It could not be otherwise when our roots come from the Matarraña fields. Our olive-growing culture is ancient, and there is even a local variety that has been preserved for centuries: empeltre. We have grown up knowing and discovering the fantastic benefits of this precious liquid, and that shows in our production process and in the final product.

To be fair, we have not reinvented the wheel, since olive oil has been used for centuries to care for the skin throughout the Mediterranean basin. In addition to its traditional use, there are hundreds of scientific studies that support the benefits of olive oil on the skin, for example:

• Powerful antioxidant: thanks to its high content of vitamin E and polyphenols.

• Tones and firms: due to its high content of essential fatty acids.

• Non-comedogenic: meaning it does not clog pores and lets your skin breathe.

Although the main ingredient is olive oil, we also use other plant oils such as almond, rosehip, sunflower seed, sesame or hazelnut. The advantage of controlling all the processes is that we can guarantee the origin and quality of the oils and botanical extracts included in our products.

How to apply Matarrania products correctly

Because our organic cosmetics are unique and special, they require a short guide to get the most out of them. Do not get us wrong, it is not that they are difficult to use, it is that we want you to enjoy and feel them 100%.

• Rich texture. As we have explained, Matarrania products are made in a very special way and contain no water, which gives them a richer texture, and some products may be solid in the jar. You just need to rub a little between your fingers before applying directly.

• Small amount. We often overdo the amount, and that is counterproductive. You only need a tiny bit each time to achieve the best results. Bear in mind that our formulas are designed to be highly effective in small quantities and therefore last much longer. A lentil-sized amount of our 100% organic Nourishing Moisturisers is enough to nourish your face and neck; two at most, if you like to feel more product on your skin.

• Slow absorption. Matarrania creams take a little longer to absorb than conventional ones, as they are not diluted in water. However, their effect is much more long-lasting, leaving the skin softer, hydrated and protected for longer. The key is to massage for a few minutes so the product penetrates deeply into your skin.
